Rockstar Games and GameStop have teamed up to offer an exclusive for the upcoming game Red Dead Redemption for the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3.
Players can vote to choose an outfit that will be earned by completing a set of in-game challenges. Once the challenges are completed and the outfit is unlocked, the outfit will uniquely affect how the surrounding world responds to the game’s main man, John Marston.
“We’re privileged to have fans that are just as passionate about our games as we are,” said Alex Moulle-Berteaux, head of marketing for Rockstar Games. “Having fans choose their own pre-order bonus is a unique way to let them be a part of Red Dead Redemption.”
During January, new information about the challenges, outfits, and the effect it has in-game will be revealed.
RockStar games in the last newletter, has the the upcoming game, Red Dead Redemption, will release in April of 2010. This is an update from the previous announcement, that it would be coming in the first half of 2010.
Red Dead Redemption is a old fashion Western story, where John Marston, the main characters, sets out across the American Frontier.
With the current release of GTA IV, “Episodes from Liberty City“, it’s hard to think about Grand Theft Auto V. But the co-founder of Rockstar Games, Dan Houser, said they’re already thinking about the sequel to GTA V. “We’ll think of a city first, then the characters” according to Dan Houser.
With the current work set on Red Dead Redemption and finishing that up, they’re already beginning to think about the sequel to GTA IV. The upcoming sequel, GTA V, according to Dan Houser, will require a script around 1,000 pages.
Rockstar Games announced that Max Payne is scheduled to release the Winter of 2009, for support on PS3, Xbox 360 and the PC. The game according to Rockstar will include “hyper-intense action”, and will set out to move the game in a “new direction.”
The game will tell the story of a “retired police detective embroiled ina world of corruption, turmoil and intense violence.” All of which Rockstar is great on delivering.
