Just got the Netflix email saying the disc should be here today. That’s great news. Time to get some pop corn, and watch a movie.

Netflix has just started to ship the instant streaming disc for the many PS3 owners out there. The streaming disc will allow PlayStation 3 owners, to stream netflix on demand, via the use of the disc, that is required.

Most users should start receiving their on demand streaming disc tomorrow. If not, allow a couple of weeks for it to come in.

For all the PlayStation 3 fans out there, the PS3 slim is now available in the 250gb model. The 250GB Slim will put you back around 349.00, which includes 1 six axis controller. Apart from the larger hard drive, theirs not much more you’ll be getting out of this. The following links both show “coming soon”.

Lucky for me, since I’m running Windows 7 RTM, I found out that Window Media Player 12, support the m2ts HD file format for streaming to my PS3. In the past, I always used Tversity, Twonky Media, etc. But the days of that are gone my friends. Overall, didn’t find any issues in streaming HD content, looked just as good, and hey, it’s free. No more searching on warez-bb.org or anything.
Now, one thing that always helps is having a 1000mb connection from my box to the PS3. Having this, no matter what program you’re using to stream, really cuts down on any buffering issues you might see, when compared to streaming the same video or wireless, or even a 100mb connection.

Rockstar Games announced that Max Payne is scheduled to release the Winter of 2009, for support on PS3, Xbox 360 and the PC. The game according to Rockstar will include “hyper-intense action”, and will set out to move the game in a “new direction.”
The game will tell the story of a “retired police detective embroiled ina world of corruption, turmoil and intense violence.” All of which Rockstar is great on delivering.

Grand Theft Auto IV’s Xbox 360-exclusive DLC, The Lost & Damned, “would have outsold Killzone 2″ in the shops if it was a traditional retail product, Microsoft has boasted.
Xbox 360 product management director Aaron Greenberg claimed that the Xbox Live-only GTA episode is now “the most successful game add-on content we’ve ever launched.”
He added, “If that content was sold at retail, it would be one of the best sellers across all platforms. It would have outsold Killzone 2.”
Analysts have put sales figures for the DLC at above one million. Killzone sold 323,000 units in February – but that’s limited to North American sales.
“It’s another example of a great way to leverage Live to provide content that’s very timely. You could never really deliver that kind of experience at retail,” Greenberg added.
“When people get [their games] in the Spotlight channel, it’s in the millions of people who are clicking and looking and downloading. With our community being over 17 million, the scale when we get into some of those featured items is pretty big.”
In the same interview with Gamasutra, Greenberg claims that the PlayStation business is “haemorrhaging” at retail, partly because PS2 owners are migrating to Xbox 360 instead of PlayStation 3, he claims. Not that he’d say it’s doing brilliantly, anyway.
