iXtreme 1.51 Firmware has just been released for the Xbox 360. This releases fixes all new games that contain the 3rd wave in the video partition, which is due to Microsoft adding the Fall 2008 NXE Console update to the disc. The prior iXtreme firmware will not boot disc containing a 3rd wave, due to the firmware checking the crc of the video partition, looking for ‘wave1′ and ‘wave2′ only, now that there is a ‘wave3′ in the partition, the firmware rejects the disk.
Now, all newer games such as MLB 2K9 and Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X will boot without issues if running the latest version of ixtreme 1.51. For all you previous Xbox 360 flashers out there, updating your firmware should be no problem at all. If you saved your initial firmware, or key dump, you can use JungleFlasher to spoof your new firmware.

Regarding the ck3 pro connectivity kit I’m not sure if there is a website based in india that you could order the ck3 from, I ordered a ck3 pro with probe on tuesday and it arrived today so only took around 2 days to get to me. Dinesh – Do you have a liteon or a Benq drive. If you have a benq drive, no need on getting the connectivity kit, all you need is a SATA cable to connect the drive to the pc
Hi, James any news on a release date for the 1.6 ixtreme firmware thats in production? I heard it was in process of being made and would be out a week after the 1.51 final release. If I find out before you I will keep you posted. I guess I just better keep checking xbins.

somone got my 360 modded for me a few months ago because i didn’t and still dont know how to do it on my own. Now i cant get in touch with that person. so now i dont know what drive or mod is in my 360.
saiyen – the easiest way to be sure what drive you have, is to take apart your 360, and look at the drive.
As long as you have a 10 torx screwdriver, you should have no problem opening the drive.

Hi there saiyen2012, Well the best thing you could do in order to determine what drive you have and especially find the rom version of your drive I would suggest opining up your xbox360 there are many excellent tutorials available. I would reccomend you head on over to http://www.ixtreme.net/
You will find all the help you can get on there.
If you don’t fancy on opening up your case there is a way of determining what drive you have. Just google (How to determine what xbox360 drive have I got).
It’s real easy to determine once you see a few pictures of what the drives look like when you eject them.
Also check on the back of your console there should be a serial number and manufacturing date. If the model of your xbox was manufactured in 2006 it’s likely to have an hitachi drive or samsung ms25 drive, 2007 – early 2008 possibly a hitachi,samsung ms28 or benq drive, late 2008 to present most likely could have a benq vad6038 or as of now microsoft are shipping all manufactured xbox360′s with the new Liteon drives. You can tell if you have a benq or liteon drive by taking off your front faceplate and looking under the right hand side of the drive tray there should be a small hole if you shine a torch in it. You should see a coloured wire. If its white you have a benq, if its yellow you should have a liteon. Hope this info helps.

HEY JAMES AND JOE!! sorry to have bothered you again. i jus have one question that i cant seem to figure out. 1st of all i dont think im capable of doing it myself lol but maybe ill youtube some vids. BUT my question is… if my RENTED copy of MLB2k9 works on my 360 with the my flashed drive then why wouldnt the backup work?? i cant seem to figure out the answer to this. i understand that whole wave 3 thing but doesnt the original disc have wave 3 on it or whatever??? and if it does have wave 3 then how does the original MLB2k9 work??? im confused about this. any explanation would be appreciated. thanks guys
james & joe i would like to thank the both of you for such quick replays. I took the face plate off. The wire is white i googled the image to find out what drive i have I believe its a benQ drive. After taking off the face plate i was able to see the chipboard where the lcd light is and i was able to see D5 on chipboard. (I hope this will give you a better ideal) MFR Date 8-23-07.
Hi nickster, the problem is you can still boot your original game because the side of your firmware thats untouched that implements playing originals will allow the original wave3 copy to work – thats my guess?. However this is not the case when trying to read the backup copy of the game as the firmware has not been written to implement the wave3 to allow you to play a backup this way. This is why there is an ixtreme 1.6 in progress of being made which should be out shortly. Hope that answers your question nickster. Anymore questions feel free to ask, as I am happy to help
thanks joe, ive been reading though that some people cant boot the original of this game at all. but whatever its too confusing for me to figure out. i wish i knew how to do these things on my own but definitly not. i could install ram on my laptop and man an internal drive external but thats about it..oh yeah and im good at returning things at walmart that they shouldnt be takin back! lol but thats about it. thanks again for yur help guys
if i install the nxe will that allow me to play wave 3 games. if so, i tried to install it on my 360 and my 360 keeps reading the disc as mixed media. i tried a cdr and a dvdr. any help will be great full.

Yes it looks very likely you have got a benq drive as you stated you can see the white wire within the hole in the dvd drive under the drive tray. I believe you said someone modded your 360 a while back and you no longer have contact with them, Did the person who modded your 360 drive give you a copy of the original firmware at all?
It’s just that I personally have not tried as of yet upgrading a hacked firmware over a hacked firmware, as I think the safest way is to do a restore of your original firmware before upgrading to another hacked firmware. I’ve heard its much safer this way as many other people have stated they bricked there drives when trying to upgrade hacked firmware over hacked firmware. It’s just my opinion though. Trust me you do not wanna brick your drive though especially if you have no original firmware to restore it, if you brick the drive you are more or less screwed because you wont even be able to replace the drive with a new one unless you got the original drive key
. I know jungleflasher 1.5 beta has a restore option but I have not used it as of yet, But if you look in the firmware folder for jungleflasher there is a list of original firmwares for all models of drives. once again joe thanks for the quick response. the person who got it modded for me didnt give me anything but the 360 back. and its killing me because i dont want to screw up my drive. i dont know what firmware/mod is on my drive. and i’ve been trying to get in touch with this person since nov 08. i nva had any problems with the 360, but i’ve been trying to get in touch with him so i could found out what mod/firmware i have and if i was able to go on xbl. i just got the wanted game and i cant play it. when i insert the disc it just shows the white xbox360 screen.
saiyen2012 – head over to http://www.ixtreme.com, and you can post a image of your drive. As long as it’s flashed, we should have no problem putting ixtreme 1.51 on it.
Dinesh – using Dosflash if you have a BenQ, will find the drive for you, by powering it off and on, that way, theres no risk in trying to flash another drive you have hooked up on your pc

Raytheon – there is, called the 360 modification disc. Some like and and some don’t. Personally, I’ve never tried it yet, since it does it in the command line. But it’s worth checking out.

haven’t heard anything on the release yet of ixtreme 1.6. I thought it was going to be released last week. But, atleast we have ixtreme 1.51. I don’t think I’m even going to be updating to 1.6.
Hi, all. I’m a newbie with a new xbox 360. I plan to modify my lite-on dg-16d2s myself.
I’ve downlaoded jungleFlasher 0.26 Beta, portIO32, ixtreme 1.5 firmware & made myself a key grabber tool.
I’ve also read the tutorial from team-xecuter (http://team-xecuter.com/ck3/liteon_windows.htm) as well as N00B’s guide (http://dwl.xbox-scene.com/iriez/N00B_LiteOn_Flash_with_VIA.pdf). However, I don’t think I fully understand what’s the purpose behind each step.
Do both of the tutorials mention that I still can restore my lite-on drive to original after I flashed it? If no, does anybody out there know how to do it?

The best deal with 1.6 ixtreme is that you can back up your games directly from your xbox through your sata with the 0800 function intergrated. You used to have to flash the 0800 firmware to back up your games, then flash again back to ixtreme to play them. NICE

Strict Wave 3 compliance means wave 3 games will only boot if they have correct PFI/DMI/SS and timestamp for wave 3
Strict drive speed compliance means games will only boot if drive is set for the initial speed of 12x, any modification of this make games fail to boot
SS v2 suports multiple timing samples for challenges type 5 and 7 , stroing them in the SS. This is a pre-requiste for SS v3 which has support for the so called AP2.5 check. Since this has never been used or may never be used by MS we will adopt a wait and see approach and continue to monitor for its usage.
With drive in Windows mode (Tray half open on powerup) 0800 mode is activated allowing easy dumping of game disc including SS v2. In this mode the drive is also able to output drive key, fw version and drive type by using a simple custom inquiry command.
Game exceptions are integrated in the fw for games that do not comply with the strict wave checks but are legitimate. These are Dance Dance Revolution Universe, Stoked, Ping 17 disk, afro samurai
One shot boot mode allows you to boot a Wave X or non stealth game by using the activate.iso disk as a flag. Just insert the activate disc and the next disc inserted will boot without any strict checks. This will still utilise full stealth if available. As soon as that disc is booted the flag is cleared, and you will have to re-insert the activate disk again to enable one shot boot. As always use with caution.

(1) well you’ve read my story above. I’m finally decided to go onto the internet but every time i try the 360 tells me that it can’t read my internet connection. My question is to all who are listening. Is it possible that my 360 connection card is screwed up from the chip that was first installed?
(2) i know that you all only deal with xbox 360. But since you gave me such great help the last time, I was wondering if you could steer me in the right direction on soft modding my wii. I would like to thank you for your hardwork and time in advance.
